BPBD
) DKI Jakarta asks the public to be aware of the potential
coastal floods or tidal floods
in 11 sub-districts in
North Jakarta
and region
Thousand Islands
from December 1 to 10.
BPBD stated that based on information from BMKG, there is a phenomenon of maximum tide in sea water at the same time as the full moon phase or perigee.
“Potentially increases the maximum height of sea tides in the form of coastal flooding or tidal flooding in the northern coastal area of Jakarta at 07.00-13.00 WIB,” quoted from the official upload on the BPBD DKI Jakarta Instagram account, Monday (1/12).

The 11 sub-districts are Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke and Tanjung Priok.Then, the Thousand Islands also have the potential for flooding.
BPBD asks the public to avoid activities in coastal areas that are at risk of tidal flooding, especially during high tides.
BPBD also asked the public to ensure a drainage system around their homes to avoid puddles.
“Increase awareness of changes in weather and sea water conditions,” said BPBD.
