Two teams qualified for
2026 World Cup

A total of 42 teams have officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19 next year.
However, of the 42 countries, two of the teams are countries that are prohibited from entering the United States.The two countries on the US ban list are Iran and Haiti.

The Iranian national team is the third country from Asia to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after Japan and Australia.Iran ensured qualification after drawing 2-2 with Uzbekistan in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the AFC zone.
Meanwhile, Haiti won a ticket to next year’s World Cup after winning 2-0 over Nicaragua in the final match in Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Concacaf zone, Tuesday (18/11).
Last June, Donald Trump issued a ban on 12 countries whose citizens cannot enter the United States.Haiti and Iran are on the list.The ban was made because the citizens of these countries were considered dangerous to the US.
However, Trump made some concessions for the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Contingents from banned countries can still compete with a number of restrictions, including not being allowed to bring supporters to the match arena.
After 42 teams qualify for the final round, the remaining six slots will be contested through the inter-confederation and European playoff rounds.This inter-confederation playoff round competes for two tickets to the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the remaining four tickets will be up for grabs in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the UEFA zone.
