raising the projected gold medal target that Indonesia is projected to win in
SEA Games 2025
.The Red and White contingent is expected to win 90 gold from the previous 78 gold.
Erick has received a report from the Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Surono regarding the gold projections for the Indonesian contingent at the 2025 SEA Games. It is estimated that the maximum target of 90 gold medals can be won by athletes at the Southeast Asian Games next month.
“In reality, yesterday, as was stated for the SEA Games itself, if Indonesia could get 82-90 gold medals, it could be in third place [in the medal standings]. That is in line with the previous one and we will continue to explore its potential,” said Erick at the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports Office, Jakarta, Monday (10/11).

Furthermore, Erick said that the number of Indonesian athletes at the 2025 SEA Games would be announced this week or next week.The Ministry of Youth and Sports still needs to study the potential for medals based on the number of athletes traveling with the Review Team.
“Hopefully this week or next week, when the policy is concrete, we will announce it,” he said.
Previously, the Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement at the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Surono, projected that the Indonesian contingent could win 78 gold medals at the 2025 SEA Games.
Surono took a picture of the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia with Indonesia winning 87 gold medals.Of that number, the Red and White contingent finished in third place in the medal standings.
Meanwhile, at the 2025 SEA Games, Indonesia is certain to lose 41 gold medals because many of the sports contested in Cambodia do not exist in Thailand.
From the score of 87 then subtracting 41, meaning there is 46 gold potential.Then, continued Surono, there is an opportunity for an additional 32 gold from other sports.
“We can have a chance because there are several sports that are still being contested with the potential for 32 gold medals. So at least, Indonesia can project 78 gold medals,” said Surono at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Office, Jakarta, Thursday (6/11).
