The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochammad Irfan Yusuf (Gus Yusuf) explained that the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage series will start with gathering the congregation to the dormitory in preparation for embarkation or departure starting April 21 2026.

“The operational series for organizing the Hajj pilgrimage in 2026 will begin on April 21 2026, with the entry of Hajj pilgrims to the Hajj pilgrimage at all embarkations in the country,” said Irfan in a meeting at Commission VIII, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).
A day later, on April 22, the first batch will depart for Saudi Arabia via Medina.Meanwhile, the second batch will depart two weeks later on May 7 via Jeddah.
“The closing of the arrival of Hajj pilgrims at King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah is scheduled for May 21 2026, and the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, namely wukuf at Arafah, will take place on May 26 2026,” he said.
Irfan said there are 14 main embarkation or departure and disembarkation or repatriation airports for Hajj pilgrims in several provinces.
Respectively, Aceh, Medan, Padang, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, Solo, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Lombok, Makassar, Palembang, Batam, and Indramayu Kertajati.Apart from that, there are two additional new embarkations, namely in Banten and Yogyakarta.
“Apart from that, two new provinces, namely Banten and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, have been assigned new embarkations or disembarkations,” he said.
The following is a complete schedule for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage:
– April 21: congregation gathers in the dormitory
– April 22: departure of the first wave to Medina
– May 7: departure of the second wave to Jeddah
– May 21: closing of the arrival of Hajj pilgrims
– May 26: peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, wukuf at Arafah
– June 1: the return of the first wave of congregants
– June 16: return of the second wave of pilgrims
– July 1: all operations for returning congregations
