A total of 24 bodies of victims of flash floods in West Sumatra (

) was buried en masse at Bungus TPU, Teluk Kabung, Padang, Wednesday (10/12) afternoon.
Before the funeral, funeral prayers were held at the Grand Mosque of Sheikh Ahmad Khatib Al Minangkabawi and led by West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Gatot Tri Suryanta.

At the location, the group of ambulances carrying the coffin left from Bhayangkara Hospital in the Jati area towards the Grand Mosque.

The hospital belonging to the West Sumatra Regional Police is the place for examining bodies that have been successfully evacuated.However, entering the 12th day after the disaster, the 24 bodies could not be identified, so the West Sumatra Provincial Government finally decided to carry out a mass burial.
At the Grand Mosque, all the bodies were taken down for prayers.After the prayers, the body was then taken back using 24 ambulances to Bungus TPU for burial.

“The burial was carried out in one burrow [grave]. So the 24 coffins were put in one burrow,” added Arry.
At the same location, West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Gatot said as of Wednesday afternoon, the number of victims of the flash flood disaster in West Sumatra was recorded at 351 victims.
Of this number, 238 people were found dead and 20 people seriously injured.Meanwhile, 93 people are missing and still being searched for.
