) targeting a spike in transactions throughout the year-end discount program Just Shop in Indonesia (BINA)

By involving 412 malls throughout Indonesia and offering discounts of up to 80 percent, retailers are optimistic that these big discounts will be able to attract consumers, including rojali groups, aka groups that rarely buy, to come shopping.The transaction value in this period is targeted to reach IDR 30 trillion.
Hippindo Chairman Budihardjo Iduansjah said that an increase in transactions was starting to be seen thanks to the ministry’s support and ongoing promotions.

“We also plan that this will be held from December 18 to January 4 with a target of IDR 30 trillion. In the last week there has been an increase because the promotion has been supported by the Ministry of Tourism,” he said at the BINA Indonesia Great Sale 2025 Opening Ceremony in Kota Kasablanka, South Jakarta, Thursday (18/12).
This program is also collaborated with various regional discount agendas, starting from the Jakarta Festive Wonder, Surabaya Holiday Super Sale, to the Bali Nusra Great Sale.Discounts are applied by local and global tenants, including restaurants.
“So if Rojali comes, go ahead, but later you will definitely buy it if we have good goods, good prices,” said Budihardjo.
Apart from focusing on attracting domestic consumers, Hippindo is also exploring cross-ministerial collaboration to encourage domestic shopping tourism and reduce interest in shopping abroad.
Retail players in the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME), small and medium industry (IKM) and textile sectors are also collaborating to ensure product supply.
On the same occasion, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso assessed that this step could strengthen year-end purchasing power and maintain economic stability.
“Domestic trade continues to play a central role in maintaining national economic stability,” he said.
He said household consumption contributed 53.14 percent to GDP in the third quarter of 2025, with the real sales index growing 4.3 percent annually (
year on year
/yoy).
Budi also explained that the BINA Indonesia Great Sale 2025 offers discounts of up to 80 percent and an additional 11 percent for foreign tourists who take advantage of tax refunds.
This program is supported by around 380 retailers and hundreds of shopping centers.During the first to third quarters of this year, national spending program transactions reached IDR 272.39 trillion.
General Chair of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) Alphonzus Widjaja said that shopping center support covers various segments.
“Indonesia Great Sale is supported by 411 shopping centers throughout Indonesia, adding one to 412 because this morning just opened one mall in Tuban,” he said.
He said the Christmas and New Year period is the second peak sales after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, so it is a strategic momentum to maximize transactions before the end of the year.
