The police then claimed to have deployed helicopters to ensure that residents’ basic needs were met, especially in villages that were until now isolated.
“We have prepared priority points for dropping logistics by air. If landing is not possible, officers will drop aid from a safe height so as not to damage the contents of the logistics,” he said.
10 landslide points have not been handled
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Yudhi Surya Markus Pinem said the results of aerial monitoring showed that more than ten landslide points had not been handled.
“So land access to the affected locations cannot yet be opened. Currently the only logistics delivery option is by air. The aid is directed directly to Nauli Sitahui Village and the surrounding areas which are also isolated,” said Yudhi.
