As a result of this incident, two cars and two motorbikes were crushed, and one person was injured and rushed to hospital.
“Yes, an electricity pole collapsed, the suspected cause is that the tree fell and one victim was rushed to hospital,” said Head of BPBD Makassar, Muhammad Fadli, Thursday (20/11).

The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 08.00 WITA.It is believed to have been caused by a fallen tree near the electricity pole.
“Several electricity poles collapsed due to their inability to support the weight of fallen trees,” he said.
The traffic flow at the location was impassable for other vehicles.
“There is one injured victim who is currently undergoing examination at the hospital. Then the conditions at the location are now also passable by vehicles,” he explained.
Separately, the Manager of PLN ULP Mattoanging, Kristian Emanuel Sowai, said that his party had deployed around 70 officers to the location to immediately carry out repairs due to the incident.
“Within one hour, PLN officers moved quickly to restore electricity supply to 99.8 percent of customers in the area,” said Kristian in a release received.
Kristian said that approximately 800 customers were affected by fallen electricity poles due to extreme weather.
“Currently, there is only one customer affected,” he said.
Kristian appealed to the public to immediately report if they see a tree approaching the electricity network to avoid unwanted incidents.
“Immediately report via the PLN Mobile application, so that PLN officers can ensure a safe distance of three meters considering the extreme weather,” he said.
