South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCF) in an official release stated that the fighter jet flew over the waters off the east and south coast of the Korean Peninsula.The government based in Seoul then deployed fighter jets to repel the jets.

“Our military detected Chinese and Russian fighter jets before they entered KADIZ and deployed Air Force fighter jets as a tactical measure to prevent this possibility,” said a JCS statement, quoted by Reuters.
The air zone is the area where aircraft are supposed to identify themselves when approaching.
The flight added to regional tensions.Japan previously accused Chinese fighter jets of directing fire control radars at Sakura Country troop planes.
The dispute occurred at a time when relations between the two countries were inflamed due to statements by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi some time ago.
