The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bondowoso Regency, East Java noted that as many as 82 residents’ houses in seven villages in two sub-districts were destroyed by strong winds accompanied by heavy rain on Thursday (4/12).
Acting Head of BPBD for Bondowoso Regency, Kristianto Putro Prasojo, said that dozens of residents’ houses were affected by the strong winds, spread across the villages of Jambesari, Sumberjeruk, Pengarang, Tegalpasir and Pocanganum in Jambesari District, as well as in Mengok and Sukorkerto Villages in Pujer District.
“High intensity rain accompanied by strong winds occurred at around 13.30 WIB and damaged dozens of residents’ houses and a number of trees fell,” he said when contacted in Bondowoso, East Java, Thursday evening.

According to Kristianto, after the local BPBD received information about the incident, local BPBD officers carried out an assessment and evacuated fallen trees that had fallen on residents’ houses or were blocking access to village roads.
