He acknowledged that he would continue to oversee policies and budgets in favor of improving health services.The House of Representatives Commission IX also ensured that similar cases did not occur again.
Another member of Commission IX, Achmad Ru’yat urged the Ministry of Health to strengthen efforts to prevent diseases that still often threaten small communities.
“This worm can spread widespread. The Ministry of Health must be present with preventive measures before this disease spreads, including health education, sanitation improvement, and routine health checks for underprivileged families,” Ru’yat said in the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, quoted from Antara.
Ru’yat also asked related parties to accurate the main causes of the death of the toddler.
“Indeed, the main cause must be accurately diagnosed, but this shows the condition of the family that is vulnerable and minimal health attention,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that intestinal worms are not new diseases.However, according to him, until now the disease is still a serious problem because it is closely related to bad sanitation and an unhealthy environment.
Ru’yat assessed that the government needs to intervene more seriously so that similar cases do not occur again.Because, according to him, the case became a miniature of public health problems at the grassroots.
He considered attention to poor families who often face unstable health conditions, not yet fully optimal.
He then emphasized his commitment to continue to oversee and convey the issue of small people’s health, including the prevention of infectious diseases that are often ignored to the Ministry of Health, so that every Indonesian child can grow healthy and protected.
“This must be a concern, especially for the Ministry of Health, so that it is not only reactive after there are victims, but present with a real preventive policy in the field,” he said.
Head of West Java Health Office Raden Vini Adiani Dewi conveyed an apology to the public for the performance of the West Java Health Office who had not been maximized in the high case.
