5 Points of DPR Decisions Problem 17+8: Pruning Allowances and Salaries IDR 65.59 Million

Responding to 17+8 demands of the people echoed in recent times by the community, after demonstrations and protests that took place in the last week of August 2025.
In a press conference on Friday (5/9), the DPR leadership conveyed the results of the decision of the consultation meeting with the leaders of the DPR factions held on Thursday (4/9).
The meeting resulted in a number of decisions.Starting from the termination of housing allowances to cutting allowances for members of the DPR.
The following is a summary of a number of DPR decisions in response to 17+8 people’s demands:
1. The house allowance is stopped and the moratorium on foreign kunkers
Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said the DPR agreed to stop the provision of member housing allowances from August 31, 2025, and carried out a moratorium on working visits abroad as of September 1, 2025.
“Except attending a state invitation,” Dasco said at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday (5/9).
2. Pruns of allowances and facilities
Dasco said that the DPR would cut benefits and facilities for members of the DPR.A number of components evaluated include the cost of electricity and telephone services.In addition there are also intensive communication costs, and transportation allowance costs.
3. Uya, Sahroni, until Nafa no longer accepts financial rights
Dasco said that a number of DPR members who had been deactivated by political parties no longer received their financial rights.They are Adies Kadir from the Golkar Faction, Eko Patrio and Uya Kuya from the PAN Faction, and Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach from the Nasdem Faction.
“Members of the Indonesian Parliament who have been deactivated by their political parties are not paid their financial rights,” Dasco said.
In addition, the DPR leadership also followed up on their deactivation by asking the MKD to coordinate with the court of their respective political parties who had begun examination of members of the Indonesian Parliament.
4. DPR promises to improve
Sufmi Dasco Ahmad then said the DPR would strengthen the transparency and public participation that was meaningful in the legislation process, and other policies.
On another occasion, Dasco once said that the DPR’s reform would be led directly by DPR Speaker Puan Maharani.
5. Take Home Pay New Parliament Members
The consultation meeting also resulted in a decision that members of the DPR would receive a total salary and allowance or take home pay of Rp65,595,730 starting in September 2025, after the housing allowance of Rp50 million was stopped as of 31 August.
The net salary or take home pay of the people’s representatives has been deducted by 15 percent income tax (PPh).
