Everyday life in Kathmandi returned to normal after the curfew was loosened and a new prime minister (PM), Sushila Karki, was appointed on Friday (12/9).

The inauguration of Sushila Karki as PM Nepal seems to have succeeded in restoring order and meets the demands of the protesters for a corruption -free future.
For many Nepal colors, the appointment of karki is symbolic of change.
“Nepal has received his first female prime minister,” said Suraj Bhattarai (51), a resident of Nepal.
“We believe that the Prime Minister [Suhsila Karki] will handle Nepal’s struggle against corruption and advance good governance,” he added.
The appointment of Karki, known for its independence, occurred after a tough negotiation between Army Commander General Ashok Raj Sigdel, President Ram Chandra Paudel, and several Z genes representing the Nepal Youth Protest Movement.
The appointment of karki also seems to be welcomed because people are trying to forget the riots.
“This provisional government’s decision is very good for now. It does not matter whether it is Gen Z, or anyone who is older in the political world that handles it. This [corruption] only needs to be stopped,” said another Nepal resident, Durga Magar (23).
“We don’t know what will happen in the future. But, we are fasting today and hope the situation will improve,” added Magar.
Nepal was hit by a massive protest over the past 1-2 weeks.Protests were driven by the high number of corruption and the problem of economic inequality that had been lasted for a long time in the country.
One fifth population aged 15-24 years in nepel unemployed.
Unfortunately, the demonstration was responded with violence by the authorities.Residents were even more angry that the demonstrations were increasingly widespread and enlarged.
At least 51 people were reported killed in the incident.
