) In the Hearing with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah today, Friday (3/10), reminded the importance of transparency in the process of procuring goods and services (PBJ) to ensure accountable and free hajj services.
“The principle is transparency, if there is a auction process, procurement, it should be published,” said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto in the audience, as the release delivered by the KPK Public Relations.
Setyo emphasized that openness in procurement will make it easier for the community to oversee the process and prevent problems as happened in the implementation of last year’s pilgrimage, which is not only related to quota but also various other aspects.

Meanwhile, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf or Gus Irfan stated his ministry’s commitment to realize effective, accountable and transparent services.
Therefore, he decided to cooperate with the KPK in preventing potential deviations.”We ask the KPK for help to be able to carry out the mandate as instructed by the President,” said Irfan.
In the hearing, the ministry explained a number of vulnerable points in the PBJ Hajj service, such as the potential for mark up and gratification in the procurement of identity bracelets, manasik books, hotels, flights, catering, and transportation.State losses can also arise if the insurance premium exceeds the actuarial value.
KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto reminded the biggest risk not only the state loss, but the practice of giving tribute related to the hajj quota.
“The most vulnerable is not the loss, but receiving tribute because everyone will want to leave,” said Fitroh.
He also reminded the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest and documenting the entire procurement process as a form of anticipation.
In addition to the PBJ exposure, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah asked for the help of the KPK to track a number of prospective officials who shifted from the Ministry of Religion to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to mitigate potential problems in the future.

The KPK has also made forced efforts such as searching and confiscation of evidence, such as documents, electronic evidence (BBE), to four -wheeled vehicles and property.
The KPK has prevented three people from traveling abroad for six months.They are former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qouumas, staff especially Ishfah Abidal Aziz, and owner of Maktour Travel travel agent, Fuad Hasan Masyhur.
Based on the initial calculation of the KPK, found state losses in the alleged corruption case of additional hajj quota in 2023-2024 reached more than Rp1 trillion.This finding will be further coordinated with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
