– Drinking Alcohol is Strictly Prohibited: “And of course, alcohol is strictly prohibited,” he said, “but water is not denied to anyone.”
– No Making Out in Public: Kissing and showing affection in public places is prohibited.
Barbara reveals a unique trick for flight attendants in serving drinking water. He said water was often served discreetly to passengers to prevent a “domino effect” on planes.
“If a passenger asks for a glass of water, we give it to him discreetly,” he explained.
He clarified that these subtle maneuvers are not part of the airline’s official training, but rather tricks flight attendants learn on the job.
Although water is a basic and free service for airline passengers, Barbara warns that demand for water could increase quickly.
“Water is contagious,” he said.”If someone sees a flight attendant walking around with a cup in their hand, passengers in other seats will immediately start asking for the same. That’s why, when we carry it, we hide it,” he continued.
On longer flights, spikes in water demand can disrupt the entire flow of service, such as the serving of main meals, therefore caution is required.
Barbara advises passengers not to press the call or button

just to ask for water.Instead, passengers should approach the aircraft galley (
galleys
) secretly and ask for it there.
Barbara also revealed that flight attendants evaluate passengers from the first second they enter the plane.
“When you get on the plane and we greet you with a smile, we’re actually assessing you in a matter of seconds,” explains Barbara.
When greeting, flight attendants observe several things:
– Do you walk with difficulty.
– Are you nervous or appear under the influence of alcohol.
– Whether you are traveling with a baby or someone who may need help.
– And most importantly, whether you could be useful in an emergency, for example, if you look strong or have medical training.
