BYD, which brought an investment of IDR 11.7 trillion to Indonesia, has got a solid footing to jump on.Throughout January-November 2025, BYD sales have reached 40,100 units.
The record put BYD as the sixth best-selling brand for 11 months, behind Toyota, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Honda. It is very likely that BYD will stay in that position until the end of this year if in December it can get sales of 9,000 – 10,000 units.
There is the potential for BYD to overthrow Honda in fifth position at the end of this year, although the percentage is small.BYD can do this if sales can reach 15,000 units in December, while Honda does not reach 2,000 units.
Honda is currently the Japanese brand in the top five that has experienced the most severe sales decline.During January-November, Honda was minus around 38 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

BYD plus Denza
BYD’s progress is even more brilliant if the Denza brand record is taken into account.Even though it only sells one model, the D9, Denza was able to achieve sales of 192 units in October and 209 units in November.
“We have obtained a record 10,000 units per month in October and November with a market share (electric car sales) from January to October of 56 percent,” said BYD Motor Indonesia President Director Eagle Zhao in Bogor, Thursday (11/12).
Zhao said BYD Motor Indonesia had distributed 47,300 units to consumers over 11 months. This is a combined calculation by BYD and Denza.
