Spokesperson for the Aceh Disaster Emergency Response Post, Murthalamuddin, said that easy access was important because conditions in the field really needed logistical support.

In the context of disaster management, it is very important to facilitate the ease of permits from the bureaucracy so that aid from abroad can be immediately received by the people of Aceh.
“We hope that the central government can provide concessions so that aid accessibility to disaster areas can be faster,” Murthalamuddin told reporters, Wednesday (3/12).
He said that currently several disaster-affected areas in Aceh are still difficult to reach due to damage to road networks, bridges and communications.
Communication obstacles are further exacerbated by the lack of electricity.Even though internet access is available via Starlink, the device still requires power, and when the battery runs out, communication is lost again.
Murthalamuddin also highlighted the obstacles experienced by volunteers, elements of Tagana, TNI and other volunteers who, since the beginning of the disaster until today, continue to work in the field.
The biggest obstacle remains access to the location.The high level of mud made the route impassable for vehicles.
In fact, at a number of points, aid has to be carried manually, but this method cannot last long because it is prone to causing traffic jams and endangering volunteers.
Seeing these conditions, the Aceh Government emphasized the importance of central government support, especially in speeding up permits for foreign aid and international humanitarian agencies.
The regional government also gave an example of previous assistance which sent logistics transport aircraft.They hope that bureaucratic processes at airports or other entry points can be made easier without compromising safety regulations.
“Emergency situations cannot wait. The sooner aid arrives, the greater the opportunity to save residents in isolated areas,” concluded Murthalamuddin.
