asking for support from the central government to speed up emergency management of flood and landslide disasters which are still hitting a number of areas in Aceh.
Aceh Regional Secretary, M Nasir, said there were three areas of focus that really needed central intervention.
First, evacuate residents who are still isolated at several points, especially in North Aceh, East Aceh, Central Aceh, Bener Meriah and Aceh Tamiang.

“We really need additional rubber boats to reach locations that are completely inaccessible,” said Nasir during virtual coordination with the Coordinating Ministry for PMK, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of PUPR, Monday (1/12) evening.
Second, he said Aceh is pressing for additional emergency logistics, especially rice and other basic necessities which can be distributed immediately.Several regions reported that stocks were running low while land access was still cut off.
Third, the central government was asked to immediately help open connectivity, considering that a number of bridges were reported to have completely collapsed due to floods and landslides.
The Aceh government asked the PUPR Ministry to build emergency infrastructure to ensure that aid mobilization routes can be reopened.
Nasir also highlighted the need for large-scale air transportation to deliver aid to isolated areas in the highlands.
“We need Hercules to distribute at least 500 tons of logistics to Central Aceh and Bener Meriah. The stock of people’s needs there is only enough for two more days,” he stressed.
The Aceh government hopes that the central government’s quick steps can avoid worsening the conditions of affected residents, especially in areas that are still difficult to reach.
Damage to infrastructure was also widespread, including 138 office facilities, more than 200 schools, a number of Islamic boarding schools, 302 roads damaged or collapsed due to water attacks, and 142 bridges affected.
Apart from that, it was recorded that 77,049 houses were damaged, 182 livestock were lost, and more than 205 thousand hectares of rice fields and gardens were affected.
