) as an ambassador for traffic safety and security.
Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said that the appointment of the Ojol group as traffic ambassadors was partly because they were the ones who were active almost 24 hours a day on the roads.
He argued that these conditions enabled the Ojol group to truly understand the dynamics of traffic on the road, from density to accident-prone spots.

“Online motorcycle taxi drivers are the ones who are most often on the road. They know very well the traffic conditions in the field,” he said in a written statement, Monday (15/12).
“Because of that, we are collaborating with the ojol community as a strategic partner to jointly find solutions and build a culture of orderly traffic,” he added.
Agus said that the idea of the Ojol Community Ambassador was also a form of implementation of the direction of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who emphasized that improving traffic safety should also be strengthened through education and active community involvement.
He said that Ojol Community Ambassadors are Ojol drivers who are appointed or volunteer to represent their community and the wider community on traffic issues.
Later, he said, they will play the role of being safety pioneers by setting an example in obeying traffic rules.Carrying out education and outreach, as well as being a strategic partner for the National Police in identifying potential disruptions to social security and social order and traffic violations.
“This explains the National Police Chief’s order for the National Police to be present in a humane manner, inviting the public to be part of the solution. Traffic safety is a shared responsibility,” he concluded.
Previously, Korlantas Polri involved the Generation Z group to become digital ambassadors for orderly traffic.National Police Traffic Corps Regional Director Brigadier General Wibowo said this was because currently the Generation Z community group dominates the number of road users.
He said that involving the generation Z group was also a strategy to build a culture of orderly and conscious administration in the younger generation.
“Our task is also to build public awareness about the importance of orderly administration and traffic discipline. Gen Z is a strategic partner to instill these values through a digital approach,” he said in a written statement, Monday (17/11).
Wibowo explained that his party had indeed innovated to make public services easier, more transparent and accountable through digital service systems such as SINAR and SIGNAL.
However, he said, the success of digital systems does not only depend on technology, but also on public awareness and participation, especially the younger generation.
“Technology is just a tool, what determines whether it is successful or not is the people. Therefore, we want Gen Z to become pioneers of orderly vehicle administration, obedient road users, and agents of digital literacy in the traffic sector,” he explained.
