In responding to the community and demonstrations that occurred since last week.According to him, members of the DPR should have the basic ability to communicate with citizens.
However, he argued that the reality was not visible to the point of furious and took to the streets to voic the demands.
“It all started with a low EQ, a way of speaking in public that divided and degraded, and without empathy,” Agnez Mo wrote on Instagram Story, as reported by AFP on Tuesday (2/9).
“The most minimal thing that I can expect from a member of the DPR is the ability to speak in front of the public that does not divide, but really is looking for solutions for all parties, not only for their own interests,” he continued.
In the upload, he then told the story of unpleasant experience when communicating with a member of the council.Without revealing his identity, Agnez Mo told the words of the board members demeaning him.
“I experienced it myself a few months ago, when a member of the Parliament who lightly said, ‘If not S3 (PhD), you don’t need to talk about this issue,'” Agnez Mo remembered the talk of the board members.
“… because maybe according to him other people ‘too stupid?” “He wrote.

The singer then said the attitude was usually followed by bad-mouthing other people with different views or attitudes with them.
In fact, said Agnez Mo, the leader is not enough just to rely on intellectual intelligence or IQ, but also needs integrity, empathy, and spreading love to peace for the community.
“Leadership demands everything. Demanding EQ, demanding integrity, demanding empathy, vision, and above all: spreading love and peace, not even divisive energy,” he explained.
“True leadership requires the courage to serve all the people. Not only for people who agree with your thoughts, and also not to just feed your own egom,” Agnez wrote again.
He also advised the people who took to the streets to remain strong and focus on the demands, so it was not easy to overheat the provocateurs.Agnez Mo believes in the current situation, not like 1998.
“So let me say clearly: don’t want to be incited. Don’t want to be manipulated. We are wiser. We are stronger. We are no longer Indonesia in 1998,” he said.
“Citizens are guarding residents because in the end we are one nation, united by one truth: Unity in Diversity,” concluded Agnez Mo.
The wave of demonstrations emerged in various regions of Indonesia since August 25.It all started with the protest of allowance policies for members of the DPR, coupled with the attitudes and statements of members of the council who were considered insensitive to the economic situation of the Indonesian people.
The death of Affan Kurniawan on Thursday (8/28) made the movement grow into many regions of Indonesia.Various civilian groups demanded police reform, the formation of the Affan death investigation team, there was no criminalization of demonstrators.
The masses also requested a budget transparency for board members, the examination of problematic board members, dismissal to unethical party cadres, public dialogues with students and civil society.
In addition, there are also demands for the release of demonstrators detained, terminating repressive actions by the police and the compliance of mass control SOPs, transparency of legal proceedings against human rights violations.
Another demand is an appeal to the stop of military intervention in security, and wages are feasible to need and prevent mass layoffs.
However, these actions were used by a number of unknown masses to trigger riots and damage to buildings and public facilities in various cities.
After the series of actions, at least seven factions in the DPR on Sunday (31/8) agreed to evaluate their unreasonable luxurious allowances. They are the PDIP, Gerindra, PAN, Golkar, NasDem, PKB, and PKS factions.
A number of board members were also deactivated as members of the DPR by the party after being considered to make people angry with their statements, namely Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach from the Nasdem Party, Uya Kuya and Eko Patrio from PAN, and Adies Kadir from Golkar.
