Meanwhile, residents argued that they were forced to do this because they were annoyed that the retail outlet was not open during the disaster that hit the area. Moreover, basic food supplies in kiosks are currently scarce.
“If the shop was open, people would buy it, we don’t have no money. This is a situation where food is scarce, the shop is closed even though there is still a lot that can be sold to eat,” said a resident of Pondok Baru, Anwar when contacted, Tuesday.
Then in Central Aceh Regency, retail shops in Bebesan District were also looted by residents because the logistics that came to the area had not fully reached the refugees.
It is known that until now, Tuesday (2/12), Central Aceh and Bener Meriah districts still cannot be accessed by land because a number of roads and bridges are broken.
Evacuation and distribution of aid to the area can only be done by air.Distribution is not optimal. On the other hand, residents need food and other daily necessities to survive as long as aid is not distributed evenly.
Based on data from the Aceh disaster emergency response post, Tuesday (2/12) at 19:37, there are currently 8,294 refugees in Central Aceh.Meanwhile, 21 people died and 23 were missing.
Then in Bener Meriah Regency 37,682 people were still displaced.Meanwhile, 29 people died and 23 people are still missing.
