Australia’s attitude immediately made Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu more annoyed.
Netanyahu assumed that these countries gave prizes to Hamas if they recognize the Palestinian state.
He even bluntly conveyed his disappointment after Australia followed in the footsteps of other US allies preparing to admit the Palestinian state.
“Seeing European and Australian countries just entering the hole, immediately fall into it. This is disappointing and I think this is embarrassing, but that does not change our position,” Netanyahu said, quoted from

Netanyahu then claimed without the basis that the majority of Israel residents rejected the Palestinian state because it would bring a bigger war, not peace.
In fact, thousands of Israelis took to the streets of Tel Aviv City, protesting Netanyahu to immediately end the two -year aggression in Gaza.
Previously, Australian media Sydney Morning Herald reported that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would sign the official recognition of the Palestinian state this week.
Albanese through the left-and-middle government has called for two countries’ solutions, supporting Israeli rights to live safely and the Palestinian rights to own their own country.
“I say this is only a matter of time, not if (prerequisites),” Albanese said on Saturday (9/8) in New Zealand regarding the attitude of his government towards the Palestinian state.
