Corn harvest
In Rembun Village, Dampit District, Malang Regency, East Java, Wednesday (6/8).
Dedi harvested corn with farmer groups and the ranks of Malang Regency Forkopimda.
A total of 200 hectares of corn land managed by 354 local farmers were harvested simultaneously. The estimated harvest reaches 8 to 10 tons per hectare.
Based on the calculation of farmer groups, the average net income of farmers from the harvest this time reached Rp55 million per hectare.
“This harvest is not only the success of farmers, but also the results of the synergy of all parties. The National Police are ready to continue to support the agricultural program as part of the solution of economic recovery and food security,” Komjen Dedi said at the location, quoted from an official statement.
Corn planting simultaneously was carried out a few months earlier on the same land.At that time, Malang Police Akit accompanied the farmers, starting from the land preparation stage to the distribution of seeds.
This harvest is the result of collaboration of Malang Police Station, Farmers Groups, Forkopimda elements, and the private sector, including PT Syngenta Indonesia and Bulog.
PT Syngenta Indonesia contributes important in this program by providing superior seeds that can increase farmers’ productivity.
On the downstream side, Bulog took a role in the absorption and distribution of yields, so farmers do not need to worry about marketing.
Komjen Dedi stressed that the involvement of the National Police in the agricultural sector was not merely symbolic.
“This is a tangible manifestation of the role of the National Police in the strategic sector. We are committed to maintaining the sustainability of this program. The presence of the National Police is not only a matter of security, but also ensuring farmers can prosper,” he said.
According to him, the cooperation of a number of parties in planting corn should be an example for other regions in Indonesia.
Dedi said that the harvest in the village of Rembun was not only a matter of corn, but also about hope, prosperity, and national resilience to face the future.
“This harvest is not only the success of farmers, but also the results of the synergy of all parties,” he said.
