However, the company emphasized that only a small number of positions would be affected by the layoffs, without specifying the exact number.

an Apple spokesperson said the company continues to hire new employees and affected employees can apply for new positions.
Sales teams working with government agencies, including the US Department of Defense and Justice, are the main targets for Apple’s layoffs.
The reason is, the team experienced difficulties after the US government shutdown for 43 days and budget cuts imposed by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“The affected employees include account managers serving large businesses, schools and government agencies,” an Apple spokesperson said.
Additionally, staff operating Apple’s briefing center for institutional meetings and product demonstrations for prospective customers were also hit by layoffs.
