“The hot clouds of Mount Semeru have reached 14 kilometers past the Gladak Perak [Bridge],” wrote a statement from PVMBG officers, Wednesday (19/11) afternoon.
Head of the East Java BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Satriyo Nurseno, said that the bridge had also been emptied of passing motorists, since 16.00 WIB.

“Currently, access to the Gladak Perak Bridge is closed,” said Satriyo.
The Gladak Perak Bridge itself is a link between Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency.This bridge has been repaired and rebuilt several times after being damaged by material from the Semeru eruption in recent years.
Previously, Mount Semeru was reported to have erupted, Wednesday (19/11).The hot clouds emitted even reached a sliding distance of 8.5 kilometers.
Head of the East Java BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Satriyo Nurseno, said Semeru began experiencing a significant increase in activity at 14.13 WIB.
