Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum managed to qualify for the final of the Australian Open after beating Francesca Corbett/Jennie Gai, 21-18, 21-19 on Saturday (22/11).
Rachel/Febi’s match against Corbett/Gai was fierce from the start.Rachel/Febi were 2-5 behind but were able to come back ahead 9-7.After that moment, Rachel/Febi lost four points and trailed 9-11 at the interval.
After the interval, Rachel/Febi then equalized at 11-11 with a sharp attack.Rachel/Febi were finally able to take the lead 15-14 after showing solid defense followed by a sharp attack which ended with Febi’s hard smash.

The battle continues to be tight.However, Corbett/Gai were able to lead by two points at 17-15.After that moment, Rachel/Febi were able to return one point through a long rally which ended with Rachel’s cross.The score then tied at 17-17 after the opponent’s smash hit the net.
The opponent’s mistake again became an advantage for Rachel/Febi.They turned to lead 18-17 after the opponent’s shot came out.However, Corbett/Gai immediately equalized the score at 18-18.
A mistake from the opponent and a cross from Febi made them reach match point at 20-18.After failing at the first opportunity, Rachel/Febi managed to close the match with a score of 21-19 through Febi’s consecutive smashes.
