Bahlil initially said that the Lotte factory which was inaugurated today was an integrated petrochemical project in Indonesia.

He said that such a project had never been implemented since the era of Soeharto’s leadership.
“For your information, LC [Lotte Chemical] is the second integrated petrochemical project in Indonesia. We reported it, Mr President, so this was the first project 30 years ago carried out by Candra Asri, after Pak Harto’s era, the New Order era, we have never worked on a project of this size again,” said Bahlil in his speech.
Bahlil said that only under Prabowo’s leadership could the government inaugurate a similar project.
“30 years later, the President, Mr. Prabowo, will be able to inaugurate the same project in this republic,” he said.
After that, Bahlil mentioned that the inauguration moment was held ahead of Heroes’ Day on November 10.
“This is probably because it is approaching November 10, Sir, Heroes’ Day, so the only people who do great things for this nation are people who have great ideals and courage,” he said.
Suharto was included in the list of 40 names proposed as national heroes.The list of names has been officially submitted to the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Council for Degrees, Service and Honors (GTK) Fadli Zon at the Ministry of Culture Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/10).
Several days ago, Bahlil met Prabowo at the Palace.After the meeting, he proposed that Suharto become a national hero.
Bahlil said that Golkar viewed Suharto as a figure who had contributed to Indonesia.
“We also reported to Mr. President as General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP. I said Mr. President, with full hope, through the mechanism of the Golkar Party DPP meeting we have proposed Mr. Harto as a National Hero,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (3/11).
Suharto’s proposal to receive the title of national hero also sparked controversy among society.One of them was from the Justice Soeharto Civil Society Movement (GEMAS) which stated that the proposal was a disappointing step.
“Today the Ministry of Social Affairs, through its minister, has also sent a name proposal which will be submitted to the Council for Degrees, Service Certificates and Honors. Of course, this is a disappointing step but also not surprising,” said KontraS Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya as a representative of the coalition when contacted, Tuesday (21/10).
