suggested that all former Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia be considered for degrees
national hero

“If necessary, we recommend that all national figures who are former presidents be considered to be given the title of national hero,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday (6/11).

Bahlil said that all previous presidents had great services for Indonesia.
“How long will this nation continue to see the shortcomings of its figures? Look, bro, there are advantages,” he said.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf has proposed 40 names as national heroes.The list of names has been officially submitted to the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Council for Degrees, Service and Honors (GTK) Fadli Zon at the Ministry of Culture Office, Jakarta, last Tuesday (21/10).
Some of them are the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto, the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrachman Wahid alias Gus Dur, and activists and watch workers in the New Order era, Marsinah.
Most recently, Fadli said that currently there are 49 names proposed for the title of national hero.
He detailed that 40 names were proposed by the Ministry of Social Affairs this year, while the other 9 were default or
carry over
from the previous year.
“There are 40 names of national hero candidates who are considered to have met the requirements and there are nine names that are innate,
carry over
, from the previous one.”So in total there are 49 names,” said Fadli at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).
