“Thank God, the Teupin Mane Bailey Bridge has been completed and can be passed by vehicles from both directions. This construction is a quick response to overcome the disruption of this main route,” said Nasir in Banda Aceh, Sunday (14/12).
He said that the emergency bridge functions to optimize efforts to open and improve overall road access to inland areas, especially to Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh Regency.
“This is to ensure smooth logistics distribution and mobility of residents in the Gayo highlands area,” said Nasir.

The bridge was visited by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a post-disaster visit, last Sunday (6/12).
Nasir said this emergency bridge was a quick solution after floods and landslides damaged infrastructure along the route.
“This construction is the Aceh government’s quick response to overcome the disruption of this main route,” he said last weekend.
He said the Aceh government hopes that this bailey bridge will be optimized for opening and improving overall road access to inland areas, especially in Bener Meriah and Central Aceh.
“Our next focus is to optimize the opening of road access, especially to Bener Meriah and Central Aceh. This is to ensure smooth logistics distribution and mobility of residents in the highland areas,” said Nasir.
According to Nasir, this bailey bridge is expected to support the traffic load while waiting for the rebuilding of a stronger permanent bridge there.
He appealed to road users, especially truck and logistics vehicle drivers, to comply with the tonnage limits stated on the signs around the bridge.
“It is in the common interest that this bailey bridge can function optimally until the permanent bridge is completed,” he said.
Previously, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf alias Mualem extended the Emergency Response Status for Hydrometeorological Floods and Landslides in Aceh for 14 days – from 12 to 25 December 2025.
Mualem said the decision was taken because disaster management still requires intensive, integrated and coordinated efforts, starting from evacuation, logistics distribution, to repairing roads, bridges and public service facilities.
“We have surveyed the field. We need an extension for another 2 weeks for rehabilitation and infrastructure, so we need to extend it,” said Mualem last week.
Then, as of Sunday evening, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the number of victims who died due to flash floods and landslides in three provinces of Sumatra – Aceh, West Sumatra, North Sumatra – had increased to 1,016 people.
“The results of the search and rescue increased by 10 bodies, nine bodies were found in Aceh and one in Agam Regency. So that yesterday’s recapitulated total number in the three provinces was 1,006 people, as of today it has increased by 10 people to 1,016 people,” said Head of the BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Data Center Abdul Muhari in a press conference, Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, the number of missing and searching victims, as of last Sunday, was 212 people.
Then, BNPB also noted that there was a decrease in the number of refugees from 654 thousand people to 624,670.However, Abdul said, his party would still carry out further checks regarding the number of refugees.
