rice price
in 51 regions.
Minister of Agriculture/Head of the National Food Agency (Mentan/Head of Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman said that his party would focus on controlling the 51 districts/cities where the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that rice prices were still expensive, above the highest retail price (HET) set by the government.
“Our goal is to reduce prices, right? It has gone down. We’ll see. Thank God, the market operation was successful, because BPS said earlier, prices have fallen and rice is even deflated. Our goal is to reduce prices so that people are happy,” said Amran when met by media crew in Tangerang, Banten, Monday (3/11).

“But we can’t be satisfied here. We are making another program, monitoring each district. Well, this is interesting. We have formed a team to monitor each district and to control the prices of food commodities, especially rice. Bapanas is in tandem with Bulog. Prices in 51 regions are still above the HET. We ask to control the 51 city districts,” he added.
The 51 districts/cities that will have increased monitoring of rice prices are spread across 22 provinces.
The 51 regions include Intan Jaya Regency, where as of October 2025 the price of rice fluctuated the most at 7.68 percent.Then, Puncak Jaya Regency with 4.77 percent, Pulang Pisau Regency 3.48 percent, and East Barito Regency 3.35 percent.The rest are below 3 percent.
Based on BPS data as of October 2025, rice prices fell in 225 districts/cities.The number of regions where rice prices fell has increased compared to the first week of October, when there were only 179 districts/cities.
BPS reported that nationally the average decline in rice prices occurred for medium and premium types of rice.The average price of medium rice fell 0.46 percent compared to the previous month.Premium rice also decreased by 0.71 percent.Rice also experienced deflation again on a monthly basis at the level of 0.27 percent.
