“Asking whether we provide narcotics or Inex. Our staff answered no, we only sell drinks,” he told reporters, Monday (22/12).
Syamsu said the same thing happened again the next day and De Tonga staff continued to explain that there were no narcotics sales.
On the third day, he said, the police carried out a raid and found narcotics that came from outside and did not involve De Tonga management or employees.
“The goods came from outside, there was no involvement from our management or staff,” he said.
Afterwards, Syamsu said that the Medan Police sealed the VIP room along with all areas of the restaurant, bar and kitchen even without showing a letter of assignment and minutes of action.
He explained that this sealing had a direct impact on business operations and employee livelihoods.Syamsu said that his employees had not been able to work for a living for almost two weeks.
“Since the closure, our employees have not been able to work to support their children and wives. All our business permits are complete and official,” he said.
Therefore, he reported the sealing action to the Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters to obtain legal certainty. The report is registered with Complaint Number 251222000015 dated December 22, 2025.
He emphasized that De Tonga Hotel and Bar was in no way involved in buying and selling drugs and he hoped that the operations of the business premises could soon return to normal so that employees could carry out their normal activities.
“We came to the National Police Headquarters to seek protection and justice. We hope that the National Police Chief and the Propam Division Head will immediately follow up on this case,” he explained.
