) in West Bandung meets the requirements even though the use of gallons of water is still required for cooking.
“In fact, our findings in the field, which were confirmed by laboratory test results, show that the water used by six SPPGs in West Bandung meets the requirements,” said Head of the BGN Independent Investigation Team, Arie Karimah Muhammad, in an official statement in Jakarta, Saturday (8/11).
In West Bandung Regency, there are seven SPPGs which are suspected to be the source of food safety incidents after students consumed MBG dishes in September and October.Tens to hundreds of students were affected in each case.

The first case occurred on September 26 2025, involving three SPPGs, namely Cipongkor Cijambu, Cipongkor Neglasari, and Cihampelas. The results of the investigation reported on October 17 showed high nitrite contamination in melons and lotek as the cause.
The next case involved two SPPGs in Cisarua, namely Cisarua Jambudipa on October 14 and Cisarua Pasirlangu on October 15 2025.
“In these two cases, the incidents could not be analyzed further because the independent investigation team did not obtain laboratory test data on the food served,” added Arie.
Physical, chemical and microbiological analyzes of water were carried out at six SPPGs in West Bandung, namely at Cipongkor Cijambu, Cipongkor Neglasari, Cisarua Jambudipa, Cisarua Pasirlangu, Lembang Kayu Ambon and Lembang Cibodas 2.
The analysis was carried out by the West Bandung Regency Public Health Laboratory (Labkesmas) on 23 October and 3 November 2025 in order to obtain a Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate (SLHS).
The results show that the water used in the six SPPGs meets all standards.
“So the issue of clean water quality at the 6 SPPGs is clear. Undebatable,” said Arie.
Meanwhile, the water at SPPG Cihampelas does not meet the requirements for manganese and iron contamination, as well as colonies of Coliform bacteria.
Even though the water quality in the six MBG kitchens meets standards, BGN still requires all SPPGs to use certified gallon bottled water when cooking MBG dishes, as an additional precaution.
Previously, a food safety incident in West Bandung Regency happened to hundreds of students after consuming MBG prepared by the local SPPG.
The BGN investigation team conducted a thorough inspection of food, water, and storage procedures to ensure food safety for students.
