National Nutrition Agency (
BGN
) alerted all Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (
SPPG
) aka the Free Nutritious Meal kitchen (
MBG
) to comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) and facility suitability if you don’t want the facility incentive of IDR 6 million per day to be cut.
This confirmation was conveyed following a number of field findings which showed that the MBG kitchen had not been managed according to regulations.
Deputy Head of BGN Nanik Sudaryati Deyang emphasized that partners, foundations and SPPG heads are obliged to maintain kitchen facilities so that they meet food safety and quality standards.

“You shouldn’t be comfortable with this big incentive. You already got an incentive of Rp. 6 million per day, but you’re just hanging around. The blender was broken and you didn’t want to replace it, so finally the head of SPPG, a nutritionist and an accountant jointly bought a blender. How’s that for you,” he said in an official statement during a briefing at the BGN Program Coordination and Evaluation event at the Aston Hotel, Cirebon, Sunday (7/12).
An incentive of IDR 6 million per day is given as compensation for the preparedness of SPPG facilities according to BGN standards.Director of Nutrition Fulfillment Systems, Deputy for Systems and Governance at BGN, Eny Indarti, said that this scheme is a fixed payment and does not depend on the number of portions served.
“This amount is valid for the first two years, then it will be evaluated,” he said.
However, this policy sparked jealousy among some partners and foundations.Nanik said he received protests regarding the equalization of incentive amounts in various kitchens.
“When I built a 400 square meter kitchen in the first stage, it was compared to the current kitchens which are less than 400 square meters,” said Nanik, imitating their complaints.
Through an independent assessment mechanism, BGN ensures that the principle of justice remains valid.
“They will assess your kitchens fairly. If it turns out your kitchen is not up to standard, or the value is low, the facility incentives will be cut. Don’t be careless,” said Nanik.
Apart from fulfilling the SOP, each SPPG is required to have a Sanitation Hygiene Eligibility Certificate (SLHS), a Waste Water Management Installation (IPAL), and a Halal Certificate.Volunteers are also required to take Food Handlers Training.
For Cirebon City, of the 21 operational SPPGs, 15 already have SLHS, 11 are currently applying, while two have not applied at all.In Cirebon Regency, of the 139 operational SPPGs, 106 have SLHS, 24 are currently being tested, and nine have not yet applied.
Nanik asked MBG kitchens that have not yet met the requirements to immediately complete these obligations.
“Please, those who haven’t yet must register immediately. I’ll give you one month. If within one month you haven’t registered with the Health Service, I will order you to be suspended,” he stressed.
