BGN Tightens SOPs for Inter-MBG Partner Drivers After Student Collision Incident

) reorganize standard operating procedures (SOP) for the delivery of the Free Nutritious Meal program (
MBG
) following an incident involving a car belonging to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which hit 20 students and a teacher at SDN 01 Kalibaru, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Thursday (11/12).
Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communications and Investigation, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, said that the arrangement includes provisions for food delivery areas and the qualifications of SPPG operational drivers, in order to prevent a similar incident from recurring.

One of the policies implemented is the prohibition of MBG delivery cars from entering school grounds.SPPG partner vehicles are required to stop outside the school fence.
“Try not to bring food into the yard. Just deliver it in front of the fence. Why? Because even though there is no ceremony, the children often run around in the yard,” said Nanik in an official statement during the Socialization and Strengthening of MBG Governance as well as SPPG Supervision and Monitoring at the Aston Inn Ballroom, Lumajang, Saturday (13/12).
Apart from regulating the delivery area, BGN also tightened the provisions regarding SPPG operational drivers.Drivers are required to be professional drivers, not freelance drivers or individuals with other professions, especially those who are just learning to drive a car.
“You have to have a driver’s license, not just SIM A, because SIM A is like SIM C, as long as you get it. Why not just SIM A? So that he can master the use of an automatic or manual car. He has to be a driver,” said Nanik.
BGN also sets other criteria for SPPG operational drivers, including being familiar with the terrain and distribution routes, having a good personality, never being involved in drug cases, and being in good physical and mental health.
SPPG partners are asked not to recruit drivers carelessly just to reduce costs.
“I ask partners to pay attention, not because you want to pay cheaply, then just withdraw. Now I recommend that the SPPG be suspended for an indefinite period of time. Later, if something happens, I will also recommend the same thing to ladies and gentlemen,” said the former senior journalist.
In supervising MBG distribution, the Head of SPPG is also asked to regulate personnel working hours so that the delivery process can be directly supervised.
The accountant must come in in the morning, the nutritionist is on duty from 17.00 to 01.00, and the head of SPPG comes in from 01.00 in the morning.With this arrangement, the SPPG head must be present when the food is distributed.
“This is what happened, the Head of SPPG didn’t know where he was when the driver was delivering the food. That means he didn’t know where the driver was. You have to be responsible. The Head of SPPG has to make sure the food gets to the school, and wait for there to be a problem. Turn on your cellphone, don’t be difficult to contact,” said Nanik.
BGN said the head of SPPG together with partners and foundations were fully responsible for recruiting operational drivers.Every change of driver must be informed by the Head of the SPPG and all SOPs must be complied with by each SPPG.
If the SOP is ignored and a fatal incident occurs, sanctions will not only be imposed on the driver.SPPG operations can be suspended, while SPPG heads who ignore procedures also have the potential to be dismissed.
