Indonesian cyclist Rendy Varera succeeded in donating the first medal to the Indonesian contingent in
SEA Games
Thailand 2025 on Wednesday (10/12).
Rendy won a silver medal in the Men’s Mountain Bike (MTB) Downhill event.
Rendy successfully recorded a time of 02:38.714 in a tight race at Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Thailand.

Meanwhile, the gold medal was won by host athlete Thailand, Methasit Boonsane, who achieved a record time of 02:37.856.
Meanwhile, the third place or bronze medal was won by Filipino athlete, John Derick Fart with a time of 02:43.676.
Rendy admitted that he was grateful for the results achieved.According to him, this was the best time record he could provide.
“Quite relieved, I have given this to the maximum, I am very grateful for today’s results. This time record is a personal best and the best time I can give,” said Rendy, quoted from the NOC release.
“Next, I have to practice a lot more. I want to reduce the brakes in the future, and strengthen them again for pedaling,” said Rendy.
Meanwhile, CdM of the Indonesian Team for the Thailand 2025 SEA Games, Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, said that Rendy Varera’s success could boost the enthusiasm of all Indonesian athletes who will compete in the 2025 SEA Games.
“Thank God, today we got the first medal for the Indonesian Team, a silver medal from the men’s downhill mountain bike, Rendy Varera,” said Bayu.
“Hopefully this will be a good start for the Indonesian Team at the 2025 SEA Games and will inject enthusiasm and motivation for heroes from other sports to donate further medals,” Bayu added.
Apart from Rendy Varera, cycling athlete Riska Amelia Agustina also won a silver medal in the women’s downhill event on Wednesday (10/12).
