congratulated Zohran Mamdani after winning the general election for Mayor of New York on Tuesday (4/11).

He then posted general congratulations after the Democratic candidates swept regional elections in strategic areas.
“In Virginia, New Jersey, New York City, California, and communities across the country, voters chose hope, justice, and a future where everyone has equal opportunity,” Biden said in X.
He then said, “Our democracy works when we make it happen, and last night, the American people proved once again that they are up to the task.”
Mamdani won the general election for mayor of New York.He defeated independent rivals and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
During his victory speech, he said the city would be a light amidst the darkness that enveloped the United States after winning the provisional election.
“In the midst of this moment of political darkness, New York will be a light,” said Mamdani, head of his supporters.
The US central government, under the leadership of Donald Trump, has received criticism for policies that are not pro-people.Some of these include arbitrary arrests of immigrants, the shutdown of the US government, the deployment of the National Guard, and the application of high import tariffs to other countries.
Apart from that, Trump often criticizes and even insults Mamdani.He also threatened that New York would not receive funding from the federal government.
