BMKG Warning, Tangerang City Sets Disaster Emergency Alert Status

Sachrudin officially declared alert status

hydrometeorology for the period December 2025 to March 2026.
This policy was taken following an early warning from BMKG which predicted above normal rainfall due to global climate anomalies.
“Throughout this year, the trend of flooding, inundation and strong winds has increased significantly. Because of this, the Tangerang City Government has declared an emergency alert status. This is not a formality, this is an invitation to increase joint preparedness,” said Sachrudin, Wednesday (10/12).

In front of the alert rally participants at Situ Cipondoh, Sachrudin emphasized the need for a change in the paradigm for disaster management.
“When we are ready, disaster usually takes another route. But if we are careless, even a small puddle can turn into a disaster,” he said.
Sachrudin also instructed all sub-district heads and village heads to ensure regional readiness, starting from maintaining drainage, mapping vulnerable spots, to mobilizing volunteers.He emphasized that human factors often exacerbate disaster risks.
“Drains are clogged with rubbish, sediment accumulates, drainage doesn’t function, all of this destroys environmental balance. Restoring balance starts with the simplest thing: maintaining cleanliness,” he said.
The rally, which was attended by more than 700 cross-agency personnel, was said to be a momentum to strengthen coordination.”There must be no sectoral egos. Disasters are all of our business. The government, officials, business world and volunteers must act in one command,” said Sachrudin.
Apart from establishing alert status, the Tangerang City Government also sent BPBD personnel and medical personnel to Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra to assist with disaster management in the region.
“Disasters know no regional boundaries and require a rapid response across regions. I have instructed the dispatch of personnel to assist with handling in the affected areas. On behalf of the Tangerang City Government, we express our deepest condolences,” concluded Sachrudin.
