“BNI wants to be closer to the community through real support that has a long-term impact, both in terms of the environment and the economy of the residents. Ponggok Village was chosen because it has great potential to be developed into a tourism center as well as a water resource-based economy,” said Okki in a written statement.
This program is implemented collaboratively with the community, local government, and strategic partners including BUMDes Tirta Mandiri.Through this collaboration, BNI supports three main developments, namely the Ponggok Paradiso multi-purpose facility, the construction of tourist lodges, and a local drinking water processing business unit.
Ponggok Paradiso, which is equipped with a swimming pool and meeting hall, is expected to be an additional attraction, complementing the existence of the tourist icon Umbul Ponggok. With this facility, the village can reach a wider tourist segment, from families to companies.
Meanwhile, the tourist lodge is prepared for accommodation and meeting rooms so that Ponggok Village can develop from a short-term destination to an overnight destination. This is expected to increase the length of stay of tourists and increase their spending in the village.
On the other hand, local drinking water processing units utilize the potential of Ponggok spring water as a sustainable commercial product.Apart from creating a new source of income for BUMDes, this business also opens up employment opportunities that can be directly felt by the local community.
BNI ensures that the implementation of the TJSL program always involves residents in the management of business units and facilities, thereby fostering a sense of ownership and shared responsibility. This support is directed so that Ponggok’s natural potential remains managed wisely so that the resulting economic value does not compromise environmental sustainability.
“BNI believes that local economic empowerment is the key to creating community independence. Through this collaboration, we want to encourage Ponggok Village to become a successful example of how natural potential can be processed into a sustainable economic source while preserving the environment,” concluded Okki.
With these various initiatives, BNI shows its commitment not only to business development, but also to community empowerment and environmental preservation. It is hoped that the presence of the program in Ponggok Village can become a model of synergy between natural potential, tourism and a sustainable community economy.
