Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Muhammad
Bobby Afif Nasution
ensure that the provincial government has taken quick steps to address the problem of fuel oil (BBM) scarcity which is starting to occur in a number of areas.
“This condition was triggered by the bad weather that hit North Sumatra in the last few days, hampering the fuel distribution process by sea,” said Bobby Nasution at Soewondo Air Base in Medan, Friday (28/11/2025).

According to Bobby, the tanker carrying fuel had actually arrived in the waters of Belawan Harbor, but the high waves meant that the ship could not yet dock to carry out the fuel loading process.
“Yesterday we coordinated, because in Belawan the waves were high, the tankers (fuel carriers) were already there, but they couldn’t be connected to load the fuel,” said Bobby.
Fuel stocks are said to be imported from nearby areas such as Pekanbaru, Riau.He revealed that there were approximately 30 trucks that would carry fuel stocks to North Sumatra.
He hopes that the weather and waves at sea will soon improve so that tankers carrying fuel can immediately dock.
“30 trucks have been sent from Pekanbaru, they are being sent here. Hopefully the waves will subside, these can be docked and can be loaded,” explained Bobby.
