Bobby said that the floods and landslides that hit the North Sumatra region at the end of 2025 caused damage to 24,000 residents’ houses.
“More than 20,000 houses were affected, in fact the latest data reached 24,000 houses, ranging from minor damage to being lost by landslides,” said Bobby.
According to Bobby, Christmas celebrations should be a momentum to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and social awareness.According to him, recovery is not only related to physical development, but also strengthening human values and solidarity.
“It is important to maintain harmony between humans and nature as part of efforts to prevent future disasters. In the midst of the joy of Christmas, we are still faced with sorrow. This is a shared responsibility to strengthen each other and help our brothers and sisters who are affected,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the DPD Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI) North Sumatra, Swangro Lumban Batu invited all cadres and Christians to spread love through real action to communities affected by the disaster.
“Don’t turn a blind eye to the suffering of our brothers and sisters. Let’s work together to help those who are still in refugee camps or who have lost their property. This is the true meaning of the theme ‘Restore Our Nation,” he said.
