“Yes, we will carry out a sweep. We will see which groups exist so that they disband immediately. We hope that members of the public will not take the law into their own hands,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to journalists, Thursday (11/12).
“Police personnel from Brimob Kwitang and also from Sat Samapta, from the Directorate of Samapta Polda as well as Sat Samapta Polres and also Polsek are already at the crime scene. And we are securing this crime scene and we hope that the community will no longer worry,” he continued.

Nicolas said that the destruction and burning of street vendors’ tents and motorbikes was the result of a beating that killed a matel.
“As a result of this, the victim’s friends, approximately 80 to 100 people, suddenly came, actually we from the police had anticipated this, but at that time the force that suddenly arrived, approximately 100 people, damaged the stalls around this place,” he said.
According to Nicolas, currently his party is still investigating the attack which killed one man and another was seriously injured.Apart from that, he said, his party was also investigating the destruction and burning of street vendors’ tents.
“Our Criminal Investigation Department members are still in, and the Regional Police and Sector Police are still collaborating to uncover the perpetrators of the attack and we will also uncover the damage that occurred around here,” he said.
Previously, two men who worked as eagle eyes (matel) were victims of beatings by unknown people in Kalibata, South Jakarta (Jaksel), Thursday (11/12) at around 15.30 WIB.As a result of the beating, one person died.
Pancoran Police Chief Commissioner Mansur said the incident started when the two officers stopped a motorbike rider at the scene.
“The chronology is that there was one of the motorbike users. Well, the motorbike was suddenly stopped by these friends. After it was stopped, it stopped, as usual. Well, it just stopped, this is according to witness testimony, then it continued to stop, the other road users got out of the car,” said Mansur.
Mansur said that the beating was carried out by the people in the car.He said the beating took place quickly.
“Suddenly there was a car with a driver on the road too. The driver of the car didn’t know where he came from and suddenly got out to help. Then the matel beat him,”
he said.
Mansur said the perpetrators immediately left the scene after carrying out the beating.The motorbike, which had been stopped by the two victims, also immediately left the scene.
