Head of Public Relations for the Lamongan Police, Ipda Hamzaid, said that when he was found, the victim’s body was already charred.

Apart from that, he said that Lamongan Police personnel together with the Inafis team and Jombang Police investigators had carried out a crime scene investigation (TKP).
“The joint team has carried out a crime scene investigation in the Perhutani Ngimbang area,” said Hamzaid, Tuesday (4/10).
Hamzaid said the body had been evacuated to Jombang Regional Hospital for identification and further medical examination (
post mortem et repertum
).
He said that the initial investigation led to the alleged connection of the victim to a case of theft accompanied by violence which was being handled by the Jombang Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Tembelang Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
The police are still investigating the motive and identity of the victim, as well as investigating the possibility of the perpetrator’s involvement in other crimes.
“It is currently suspected that the victim has something to do with the case of theft with violence which is currently being developed,” he said.
