The arson incident occurred in the yard of the victim’s house, last Thursday (23/10).At around 03.45 WITA, the two suspects allegedly set fire to the victim’s car.
“Initially the victim returned home at around 02.00 WITA, parked his car in the yard then went into his room. A few minutes later at around 03.45 WITA, the victim heard the sound of a fire explosion in front of the house, so at that time the victim came out and saw that the car was on fire,” he said.
Meanwhile, said Agus, investigators are still investigating the suspect’s statement and examining a number of witnesses.
“Both of them have been questioned as suspects. The motive is still being developed first,” he said.
As a result of their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 187 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st subsidiary Article 170 paragraph (1) and Article 406 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
The criminal threat in Article 187 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code is imprisonment for a maximum of twelve years.
“They face up to 12 years in prison,” said Agus.
