The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 16 January 2026. Three weeks before the tournament, Cameroon released the list of 28 players who will be brought to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Andre Onana’s name is not on the list.Onana has been Cameroon’s mainstay during the 2026 World Cup Qualifications.

However, after the team nicknamed the Indomitable Lions failed to make it to the 2026 World Cup, the Cameroon Football Federation made changes.

, the federation led by Samuel Eto’o fired coach Marc Brys and replaced him with David Pagou.The change of coach apparently had an impact on the Cameroon squad, one of which did not include Onana’s name.
Meanwhile, Cameroon’s other Premier League stars, such as Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba, were brought by Pagou to Morocco.
Being dropped from the Cameroon squad seemed to make Andre Onana’s bad luck continue.Previously this season, Onana was kicked out of Manchester United and had to be loaned to Turkish club Trabzonspor.
This condition occurred after MU coach Ruben Amorim brought in Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens.Amorim’s decision was not completely wrong, currently MU’s back line is claimed to be calmer in playing when Lammens is the goalkeeper.
At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon was drawn into Group F which did not look easy.The group contains Ivory Coast, Gabon and Mozambique.
