Head of Cartenz Peace Operations Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani said that Maam Taplo was on the Wanted List (DPO) following acts of violence against health workers in Kiwirok on September 13 2021.
“This arrest is an important step in enforcing the law and providing justice for the victims. Perpetrators with a track record of violence like this must be held accountable for all their actions,” he said in a written statement.

Faizal explained that the arrest began when the team managed to find out the whereabouts of the fugitive perpetrator through investigations.He said that the perpetrator, Maam Taplo, was arrested without any resistance at Arso Swakarsa, Keerom.
From the results of the examination, he said that the perpetrator left Kiwirok for Jayapura in August 2025 under the pretext of seeking treatment at Vanimo Hospital, Papua New Guinea.At that time, the perpetrator used a referral letter from the Kiwirok Community Health Center because he experienced swelling in his stomach.
Faizal said that currently the perpetrator has also been taken to the Papua Regional Police to undergo further examination by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Kombes Adarma Sinaga, emphasized that the operation would continue to pursue other KKB members.
“We continue to monitor the movement of the KKB network and ensure that public security is maintained. Law enforcement against perpetrators of violence will be carried out without compromise,” he said.
The following is Maam Taplo’s criminal record before she was finally caught:
1. Murder and serious abuse of health workers in Kiwirok.The victim who died was Gabriella Meilani due to stab wounds to the head, neck and stab wounds to the stomach.
10 people were injured, namely, Dr.Restu Banyaki (fracture of right arm), Siti Khotijah, Martinus Deni Satya, Lukas Luji (bruises), Emanuel Abi (arrow wound in armpit), Patra (bruises),
Next, Katrianti Tandiala (stab wounds on the genitals and right thigh, facial bruises), Christina Sampe Tonapa (stab wounds all over the body), Marcelinus Ola Atanila (bruises) and Gerald Sokoy.
2. Burning of public facilities in Kiwirok.Some of the buildings that were burned were Bank Papua, Community Health Center, Market, Community Health Center Housing and District Office.
3. Maam Taplo was also involved in a series of other acts of violence, such as the shooting at Kiwirok Airport, shooting at the Brimob Regiment III Post and personnel from the Kodim Yonif 431/SSP Task Force at the Okbibab Post as well as gunfire with Yonif PR 431/SSP personnel at the Kiwirok Post which resulted in the death of Prada Beryl Kholif A.R.
