The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled an examination of the former Head of the Supreme Court (MA) Zarof Ricar, Zarof Ricar, today, Monday (15/12).
Zarof will be examined as a witness to complete the case file for alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) of former MA Secretary Hasbi Hasan.
Zarof was previously known as a case broker after he was involved in the case of bribing a judge for Ronald Tannur’s acquittal at the Surabaya District Court.He was sentenced by the Central Jakarta Corruption Court to 16 years in prison, which was then increased to 18 years in prison and confirmed by the Supreme Court at the cassation level.

“It’s true, today the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has scheduled a summons for an examination of Mr. ZR, former Head of the Supreme Court Legal and Judicial Training Research and Development Agency, in the capacity as a witness, in the investigation of the alleged corruption/TPPU case related to case management at the Supreme Court,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when confirmed via written message, Monday (15/12).
It is not yet known whether Zarof is involved in the case involving Hasbi, so he must be examined.The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will usually convey this after the investigation is complete.
In the case in which Zarof, a former high ranking Supreme Court official, was known as the case broker, on Wednesday (12/11), he was sentenced to 18 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion.
The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) which sentenced Zarof to 18 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
The money worth IDR 915 billion and 51 kilograms of gold found by the Attorney General’s Office at Zarof’s residence were confiscated for the state.This is because Zarof cannot explain the origin of his wealth, which he said was obtained from a legitimate source.

Meanwhile, Hasbi Hasan is also a convict in a bribery case worth IDR 11.2 billion related to the processing of the Intidana Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) case and gratuities.
On Tuesday, December 3 2024, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal he submitted.
Thus, the verdict of 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion subsidiary 6 months in prison plus compensation money of IDR 3,880,844,400 subsidiary 1 year in prison has been confirmed.
