.

“FIFA said, ‘You have lied’. This is a shameful episode involving government institutions and raises questions regarding good governance. This is shameful, and FIFA is disappointed that no one can take responsibility for this problem,” he said as quoted from
The New Straits Times.
Ramli added that FIFA wanted to take action against the people responsible and hoped that FAM would not cover up the case, but the opposite happened.
“FAM needs to think about Malaysian football, not certain individuals. Wrong is still wrong, there is no way to justify it,” he said.
The FIFA Appeals Committee has rejected FAM’s appeal regarding the fine imposed on the neighboring country’s football association and the fine and 12-month ban on seven naturalized Malaysian players.
In a statement released Tuesday (18/11), the FIFA Appeals Committee revealed that FAM deliberately submitted fake birth certificates from naturalized players who claimed their grandparents were born in Malaysia.
During a FIFA investigation it was later discovered that the grandparents of the seven naturalized players were not born in Malaysia, but were spread across the Netherlands, Argentina and Spain.
