Anto said the Ministry of Forestry was saddened by the officer’s departure.

He added that the Ministry of Forestry is committed to cracking down on illegal activities that threaten the environment.Apart from TNGHS, the Ministry of Forestry together with related parties are also taking action in the Bengkulu Seblat Landscape;Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB);and Morowali, Central Sulawesi.

“We express our deepest condolences to the family of the late Adi Pamungkas. May Allah accept all his dedication in protecting the forest,” said Deputy Minister of Forestry (Wamenhut) Rohmat Marzuki, quoted from the press release.
The Directorate General of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Forestry (Gakkum Kemenhut) identified 411 gold mining holes without permits and around 1,119 work huts in TNGHS.
Enforcement operations involving the ranks of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) have started on Wednesday, October 29 2025.
During the mapping, around seven locations of illegal mining practices were observed.The seven locations include Mount Telaga, Cisoka, Mount Kencana, Mount Botol, Gang Panjang, Cibeduk, Cikidang, Pangarangan, and Mount Koneng.
The operation was carried out starting from the Ciear Block, Cisarua Village, Sukajaya District, Bogor, West Java.Furthermore, the joint operation targeted other locations in the Halimun Salak stretch according to the operation plan.
The action in the Ciear Block was carried out by a joint team from the Directorate General of Forestry Gakkum, Jabalnusra Gakkumhut Hall, TNGHS Hall, Yonif 315, Cigudeg Koramil totaling 60 personnel.
In this operation the joint team succeeded in destroying 31 blue tents.
In the field, the team stopped activities, secured evidence in the form of cyanide chemicals, used oil jerry cans, manual scales, wooden mixers, controlled mining facilities, namely blue tents or huts, as well as taking action in accordance with statutory provisions.
Coordination is carried out with TNGHS management, local government and law enforcement elements for follow-up operations.This is because previous enforcement efforts were hampered, among other things, by the “cat and mouse” pattern carried out by the perpetrators.
