Hong Kong police arrested a man who allegedly tried to open the plane’s cabin door when
flight
Cathay Pacific Airways airline from Boston, United States, to Hong Kong.
The police said they received a report from the Cathay Pacific Airways airline at around 04.45 am on Thursday (11/12) local time regarding the serious incident.
The plane successfully landed at Hong Kong airport at around 05.00 am.Police officers then immediately boarded the plane and arrested the suspect on suspicion of violating the Aviation Security Ordinance.

The suspect arrested by police officers on the plane was a 20-year-old mainland Chinese man.
Cathay Pacific on December 12, 2025 confirmed that a passenger on flight CX811 from Boston to Hong Kong tried to open the plane door in the middle of the flight on December 10.
The airline said no passengers or crew were injured, and the flight managed to land safely on the morning of December 11.This case is now being handled by the Hong Kong police.
“Our cabin crew immediately responded to the situation, checked the doors to ensure they were securely closed, and reported the incident to the relevant authorities and police,” Cathay said in a statement.
“This case has been handed over to the police for investigation. At Cathay, the safety of our customers and crew guides every decision we make,” the statement added.
