Lee Chong Wei
expressed his pride in the construction of the international class training center Khabib Gym Johor which will focus on developing athletes with achievements and character in Johor Malaysia.
“Welcome to Malaysia Khabib Nurmagomedov. A warm welcome to the undefeated UFC legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov, at the upcoming Khabib Gym at the Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail Youth Center (TMIYC), Iskandar Puteri,” said Lee Chong Wei, quoted from his personal Instagram.
“It is an honor for Johor and Malaysia to have an international class training center that focuses on developing potential champions and building character,” Lee Chong Wei added.

Lee Chong Wei also praised Johor’s development under the leadership of Tunku Ismail.
“It is an honor to witness Johor’s continued growth under the inspirational leadership of HRH Tunku Ismail,” said Lee Chong Wei.
Meanwhile, UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov said he was enthusiastic about the potential of Khabib Gym Johor.This was conveyed after the groundbreaking ceremony for the training center at TMIYC Iskandar Puteri.

The groundbreaking was officiated by HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail and was also attended by the Chief Minister of Johor, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the state government Exco, as well as Johor Sports Ambassadors, Lee Chong Wei and Sonny Bill Williams.
Khabib who is also the Johor Sports Ambassador believes this facility will have a positive impact on the younger generation.
He also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved, especially Tunku Ismail, for making this project a reality.
“In the future, this 3,000 square meter facility will be opened to children and adults in Johor. This is where we will share our experiences and knowledge in martial arts learned over the years,” said Khabib on Instagram.
Khabib Gym Johor will later be equipped with an octagon arena, fight room and multi-purpose hall that can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
